London based artist FrenchW is an independent singer, songwriter and producer. Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, he draws inspiration from a wide array of artists including LANY, Lauv and Ed Sheeran to create his rich soundscapes.
His new release “No Subject” is a “modern day satire” - a social commentary on events unfolding around the world. Filled with glossy pop melodies and shimmering synth patterns, “this song is literally what's in my head and I feel that many people are feeling the same way as well”, he explains.
“It's very tiring for me to feel this way because you can do nothing about it. Hence, the reason I made this song. I used a sarcastic visual representation and tone to portray all the exhausting things we see everyday - corrupted politics, fake people, the toxic use of social media”.
Writing songs at just 14 years old, FrenchW continued to master his craft by singing in a school choir and producing with other like-minded creatives. At 18 he hosted a number of live shows in Bangkok and garnered more than 4,500 streams on his independently released single “Not Me” before releasing his debut EP 29 to 3. With his latest release "Hurt Yourself" accumulating over 70,000 streams and generating support from tastemakers such as LDN Music and Buzz Music LA, FrenchW is refining his sound with every release.
